PI's are Sugar Sweet!

Happy Monday!! Well, Monday's not such a bad thing when it means MFT Pure Innocence Previews right?

Oh, and today, it is a long weekend in the USA, so I'm especially happy to have an extra day to hang out with my husband and the boys!

This month, one of the PI's being released is this adorable little girl with a giant lollypop. You remember the kind that you'd see at a carnival that your mother would never let you have, right?

I recently saw this adorable pail at my local craft store, its a tall and skinny pail (usually I see the squat ones, wider and shorter) I grabbed my luscious new felt from MFT, as well as my Jumbo Scalloped Dienamics, and several sweet as candy lookin' papers to alter up the pail.

When I'm making an altered pail, I always like to sew my paper bands together. You know, sewing for function, not just because it is cute.

I also sewed the felt scallops directly to the patterned paper to hold everything securely in place.

Now, to add to that sugary sweet feeling, I grabbed a self adhesive pearl swirl, and added it directly over the felt, and the twill bow. In addition to adding a touch of whimsy, it also has the added benefit of anchoring my little twill bow in place.

Sweet little PI's dress is paper pieced, and her sugary lolly has been given a generous coat of Glaze Pen. I grabbed a pink button and stitched it into place, securing a bow around the twill.

The lollies are securely tucked inside this container, and I altered up the top of this little giftie. The sentiment reads "You're too sweet" but I replaced the word "too" with the number two using Bling 'Bers as well as my MFT Clear Crystal Adornments.

Be sure to stop by Kim's Blog today after 11 am for a full list of designers who are participating in previews today! Have a wonderfully, sugary sweet day today everyone!

Don't forget to check in on the MFT Guest Designer Challenge. You will want to be SURE that you play along in this month's challenge for your chance to win the entire July release, and participate in daily previews with the Design Team!

Stop by the MFT Member Company Forum and check it out!

Sweet Sunday MFT Preview

Today I've got a fun little double whammy for you, I've got a Sweet Sunday sketch sample for you, and I've combined it with a preview of two new stamp sets coming to My Favorite Things this coming Wednesday! Get ready to meet "Emma Blowing Kisses" and "Wyatt Says Wow!"

Well, as I created it, I thought I was doing the sketch correctly, but I goofed. That green panel should have extended all the way to the edge. But as you can see, truly I'd sewn it all in place.

For a bit of something different, I stamped sweet little Emma to a piece of grid paper, then paper pieced her little dress.

And instead of my normal matchy-match thing, I went hunting through my paper stash bins, and pulled all sorts of different cheery bits of things....

This little sweetie has a so many cute sentiments included. I kept the sort of clean and simple look going by tucking in a little "love you" and added a little button to hold the trim in place.

Because I felt badly about botching the sketch, and because I had a birthday card to make, and since I also had another CUTE stamp ready to preview on my desktop I gave it another whirl, this time with the new Wyatt stamp that will also be released on Wednesday.

I had to make a card for my son's bestie's birthday this coming weekend. Wyatt's shirt was stamped onto a scrap of Crate Paper patterned paper that I had on my desktop and the other two patterned papers are My Minds Eye Quite Contrary. I stamped the pants to a scrap of Kraft paper and then colored with an E31 marker for a bit of extra detail.

Since I'd stamped Wyatt to white paper, and then used a ivory card base (whoops...didn't plan ahead...) I sponged all of the edges with some distress ink to make the white not so jarring.

Won't my husband be so pleased when I'm not dashing down to make a card 15 minutes before the party (as per usual?)

Both of these stamp sets are new releases from My Favorite Things that will be released this coming Wednesday night! I so hope you've been reading along on MFT's blog each day to see all the designers that are previewing new sets each day!

You'll want to stop by Karen's Blog to see what she's put together for this week's Sketch. If I know one thing, I am especially sure that it will ROCK!

And then be sure to stop by all the girls on the Sweet Sunday Sketch team to see what they've put together for today!

And, if you're ready for even more MFT previews (three sets are unveiling today!) you'll want to stop by the MFT Blog today after 11am - Kim will be linking up all the girls with previews for you today! The newest stamps and accessories will be available for sale on Wednesday, June 2nd - and we'll be sharing new items with you every day between now and then, now seriously, how FUN is that?

Die-namics Preview!

Have you girls all been loving your Die-namics purchases from MFT last month? Were you able to pick up the felt and cork sheets too (loooooove them!)

Today is the day that we share with you the newest die designs.... this month, MFT has three new dies, and a fabulous new texture plate as as well. I've got samples of the three dies to share with you - and if you hop around to visit the girls on the team, I'm sure you'll see lots of Die-namic goodness!

Lately, I've really been loving playing around in a scrappy fashion and these dies are just perfect for my new fascination. I used the new Grass die - running it through twice for a lush field of green, and the new Sunshine die with a bit of polka dotted scraps to create this cheery double layered sun. Since I haven't been able to put away last month's cloud dies (they are SO fun) I found this fun light blue scrap and cut out two pairs of clouds (I wanted one of the middle size and two of the small size.)

I just love being able to create little scenes out of all the many scraps of paper I have that are just too cute to throw away!

This month, MFT also introduces the jumbo ric rack die. I paired it with MFT's luscious felt for a quick custom accent to a masculine card. Since it is 1 1/2 inches in width, it was easy to stitch right down the center for a fun bit of detail.

I used MFT's chocolate felts (part of the Bananna Split collection) and it cuts like buttah. So so much nicer than the cheap-o felt from the local craft store. So luxurious.

I can't wait to see what the other girls on the team have come up with for today! Be sure to stop by the MFT Blog today after 11am for a full list of designers who have previews today! Previews will be running from now, till Wednesday the 2nd with new sets being shared each day! How FUN is that?

Cheers for You!!

I have a boatload of graduation cards to get working on, and I was thinking today how much I've missed my sweet Turtle Tots from Stamping Bella. I reached for an assortment of Pure Poppy (from PTI) and white accents (my cousin's high school colors) and Jen del Muro's fun sketch from the weekend and got to work.

When you've got a sketch to follow and a color palette in mind, I find that a card comes together in a heartbeat! I was able to crank this out while the boys watched a little Harold and the Purple Crayon (a perfect rest-time show if you ask me...)

The trickiest element for me on this card was the buttons. I have a million different buttons, but not so many identical ones. I remembered my old SU button collections and grabbed three matchy ivory ones, centered them on 3/4 punchouts of Pure Poppy paper and then gave them a quick stitch into place with my The Cat's Pajamas button twine.

A quick PS for you is that I grabbed the sentiment from one of my MFT PI's (...book in hand...)

Have a great day!!

Preschool Fashions - How Inspiring!

If you've been reading here a while, you might know that by day, I'm a home daycare provider. I have the sweetest little bunch that come - some for a half day playdate, some afterschool. I continue to be inspired by the adorable things that they wear - I'm always jotting down notes from their graphic t's, or trendy little color combinations that they've put together.

Actually, I'll let you know that whenever I'm shopping, I'm always loading the iPhone up with photo inspirations, colors that look great together in stacks of sweaters, or when I notice hot new trends in the stores.... snapshot reminder.

So, with this photo for inspiration, and my Die-namic dies from MFT, I got to work searching through my patterned paper bins.

And, it didn't take me more than a few minutes to pull together just the papers for this job.

See, I would never have thought to use green for the background, except for the fact that it was SO eye catching on that little t-shirt. Fun!

I diecut the felted clouds twice and stacked them together for extra puffiness (is that a word?) and with a quick bit of linen thread, I hand stitched a quick border all around them.

I don't know why I don't reach for a clear cardstock card base more often, because I just love this.

A quick trim with MFT's Die-namic Scalloped Scallops with a bit of denim (because miss sweetie pie was wearing a pair of jeans to go with this cutie-t)

So here's what I want to know, where do YOU go for your inspiration, what's your favorite source?

Have a WONDERFUL day, and please stop by my challenge for a chance at goodies from TCP and MFT! You'll see all the details HERE

Happy B-Day!!

Oh my goodness, how fun is this little Surprise Birthday Blog Hop we've put together for my very sweet friend Alma - the owner of The Cat's Pajamas?

If you've just tripped across the hop, you'll want to start up at Amy's place, because after all, she's our Hostess with the Mostess this week! If you hopped on over from Carole's blog, then you're in just the right place!

The challenge was to incorporate something "woody" into our projects this week, and of course, we're all making birthday cards for Alma. It just so happened, that I had just the right material on hand because last week a shopping excursion my buddy Karen spied this amazing wood veneer paper. FUN!

All of the patterned papers are from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop, and I've done all my matting in ivory (my usual kraft bases were a little blah with the wood-grain paper...)

This sweet little bee girl is from Hearts and Flowers (and I totally love this image....) to complement our birthday theme, I stamped out and diced up the Happy Birthday sentiment from "Smells Like Cake" and subbed in a chipboard letter B for the middle portion of the sentiment.

Now, not only is this a little blog hop, it is also an invitation from all of us, to all of YOU to stamp up a little something to help celebrate Alma's birthday.

Play along with us and add your own design to your Splitcoast Gallery using keywords TCPTues111 or to your blog and then use the Inlink button at the bottom of Alma's post to add your design to this page. You could be eligible to be the next Swanky Stamper of the Month and win 25 smackeroos, that's $25 in Cat's Cash.

The next stop on tonight's Birthday Blog Hop for Alma is Julee Tilman!

...just a little challenge (and blog candy) - A Half a Million Reasons.....

A half a million. Really? That's how many times my little blog has been visited! Its just incredible to me, and I can't thank all of YOU enough for coming by to visit me, to give me such sweet compliments on my work. My heart is filled with gratitude for every sweet thing you all have said to me and of course you company on this incredible journey!

So today, I have a half a million reasons to say THANK YOU and to do so, I'm hostessing a ...just a little challenge... This time it is a "Sketch Plus Three" challenge....

Now the sketch part is easy, and the Plus Three part is where you get to add in just a little something to your project, and if you ask me, that's where the FUN comes in.

And I've got a bevy of elements to select from for your "Plus Three" - to play along you'll choose three (or even more if you'd like) of the following elements to include on your project:
  • gingham
  • text printed papers
  • ledger paper
  • twill
  • kraft paper
  • denim
  • stitching
  • bling
  • paper piecing
Now for the FUN part! MFT and TCP have both generously agreed to sponsor this celebration! So, for playing along, you'll automatically be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to BOTH The Cat's Pajamas and My Favorite Things!

I've got two samples to share with you, and though they use the same exact sketch, I love how it totally changes the card!

The first is my TCP sample using Smells Like Cake. My "Plus Three" for this first card are denim, black bling, gingham and sewing. (I've sewn the denim in place, and physically sewn that button into place on the card.) Poochie's birthday treat has been given a quick coat of glaze pen. Another fun detail on this card, is that I "upcycled" a corrugated cardboard piece for my scallop element. I LOVE the extra bit of detail that it gives, and its a fun way to incorporate scallops into a masculine card!MFT Die-namics.

And here's my second sample this time using MFT's Pure Innocence: Birthday Princess, same sketch, but with a totally different take on the "Plus Three"- this incorporates a stitched scraplet, paper piecing, gingham, twill tape and text papers too. Can you see I {heart} my Die-namics and I've used the jumbo scallop on this card as well.

You are welcome to enter the contest as many times as you'd like, but you can only list new creations (not link up something that you'd made previously that happens to qualify). You'll add a direct link to your project (which you'll post to your blog or online gallery of choice) using InLinks below - love this new linking system that pops a little picture of your project right here! Fun stuff!

The winner will be selected at random on Monday, May 31st at 9:30 AM. I can't WAIT to see what you create!

Sundays are So Sweet....

Can I just say that one of my favorite "to do's" each week is to work on something fun for the Sweet Sunday Sketch. This week, I decided that a scrappy little card was just what the sketch required.

And, the sketch actually "required" that I get my hands on some Zva bling swirls that I've been wanting forever (okay, it wasn't actually a mandatory, but in my mind, that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it....)

My new Zva bling was accompanied of by this Basic Grey Basics which I've been simply *dying* to get my hands on. Thanks to Ellen Hutson for the fabulously quick shipping!!

Three quick squares from October Afternoon's Go Fly a Kite and of course a bunch and bunch of stitching. I am loving scrappy little cards lately!

This little stamp set "Thanks a Bunch" from My Favorite Things has come to the rescue for me in a huge way lately. I swear, there is no more needed card than a thank you card, right?

Be sure to swing by Karen's blog to see her take on the sketch - you'll want to be sure to whip something up and add to her inLinks for a chance to have your card featured on her blog this weel. And of course, blurf around to see all the girls on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team!

Have a wonderfully Sweet Sunday everyone!!

May's DD/DDA Challenge

Once a month, the girls Splitcoast Dirty Dozen (and Alumnae) get together for a fun little challenge. This month, hostessed by my sweet friend Bev, (My Dirty Dozen Roomie...) She's challenged us to use buttons! Which is perfect, because I pretty much love them.

Now, I know there will be a million ways to use those fun and inspiring ways to use them today... however, I've only used two pretty little blue ones on my card. My advice, is just sew those babies right into place. I can't stand when they wiggle around!

The restricted element this month is anything black... and I thought I'd done it right, using brown ink, brown cardstock, and even a dark brown rhinestone swirl... but look closely, I goofed. Check out the color printing on the phonebook page. Yikes. Black ink. (Ugh....)

I use a piercing tool to poke the holes through, and then just stitch right through anchoring them firmly into place. Takes but a second, and you don't have to worry about any embellishments going astray!

Sentiment is from MFT's Clearly Sentimental about You, and eagle eyes... I'm sure you spied my MFT Die-namic Jumbo Scallops to cut through some cork. You might notice that I've actually used a folded up paper lunch sack on my project as well. (I just ran all the edges through my sewing machine to hold it together.)

Of course you'll also find my new go to element - twill tape - hope you're not sick of it, because I just ordered more! YEAH!

So, that fun and quirky element of the phone book (which made me break the rules of the challenge....) was added in keeping with Jessica Witty's challenge this week. What a fun idea, because usually that little number would have gone into the recycling bin this week... now its on my crafty shelf! At long last, I finally picked up a self adhesive rhinestone swirly thing - I've only admired them for months now, and finally remembered to add one to my shopping cart!

Be sure to check out all the Dirty Dozen and Alumnae samples today over on this Splitcoast Gallery - there will be new samples added throughout the day!

MFT VIP: Preppy and Green

I'm hoping that you've joined me from Jessie's blog as part of MFT's VIP hop - but if not, you'll want to start up at Kim's place so that you don't miss a BIT of the action! Because seriously people, am I ever so excited about this month's VIP kit from My Favorite Things!

You may know if you've been reading here a while, that I'm pretty obsessed with fresh, local and organic produce. We also participate in a local crop share at a family farm, routinely attend local farmers market, and yes, I even have a (gross I know) compost bin in my backyard to keep scraps out of food out of the municipal water system (aka, not in the garbage disposal!)

I'll hop off my soap box a moment and show you why I'm talking about all this on a crafty blog.....

Yes, I'm embracing my green geekiness, I'll admit that yes, I fully love my reusable shopping bags, and have an assortment of them, some functional, and some just totally cute.

If you have a burning desire to know why, I'll tell you.....I love that I can carry in four or five totes, a weeks worth of food from the store - they're sturdy, practical and hello... don't end up in the trash! I can remember having a trunk FULL of those crappy plastic ones, which would always rip to pieces and groceries falling to the ground. Or, having to make, oh seven trips back and forth to lug all the food into the house. Seriously, who needs that?

But also, I love that they just go right back into my car for the next trip, and that we don't have to throw a thing away, or hunt for the correct recycling bin at the store to take them back. And yes, every little bit counts. Nice.

You'll see that I paper pieced these bags with one of my favorite papers, and added in some ivory, twill handles. See, you can be a preppy princess and still be a greenie!! This is only one of the images in this FUN set. I have another card using the other image, but I'm saving it for the release! (So mean. I know.) However, I know that lots of girls on the team will be using that other image today, so I know you're in good hands!

Now, since it is VIP time, I'll remind you that this set is available TODAY ONLY and in limited quantities - after that, it will not be available until the official release in early June.

The other reason that I'm thrilled about this VIP Kit is that it includes a product that I've been dying for Kim to add to the store TWILL. Hooray! The Twill Ribbon collection that is included in this month's kit has three different widths, and let me say, it is amazing. And, just like last month, this month's VIP Kit will include a new, un-released Die-namic die which will not be officially released until June 2nd! How super fun is that??

If you've stayed with me this long, seriously, you deserve a medal, but you'll want to be SURE to head right on over to visit Julie Dinn as I know she's got something fabulous cooked up for you!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and don't forget to treat yourself to this month's VIP kit from MFT, I can't wait to see your green girl in action!

TCP Tuesday - By the Sea!

Good morning! And welcome to another week of TCP Tuesday! Toni is our hostess this week, and she's got a gorgeous photo from Pottery Barn as our inspiration for the week!

This set of beach umbrellas got me really excited about our upcoming vacation we're at the five week mark!

My husband is very excited that he'll be able to go scuba diving inside the caldera of the volcano on Santorini. Eegads!! I'll be getting a pedicure or a massage that day... Me, I'm pretty much excited to see the sights, lounge by the pool or at the beach, and of course have some pretty exquisite dinners with my sweet hubby....

This fun sketch is courtesy of Mojo Monday, always a great project jump start. Papers are from October Afternoon, and of course, color selections inspired by this week's fun photo! The image is from The Cat's Pajamas "By the Sea"

You'll want to be sure to check out the girls on The Cat Pack (see my sidebar for links) to see all their fun creations this week, but most of all, you'll want to stamp up a little something yourself and add it to the Guestbook on Alma's Blog for your chance to be named this month's Swanky Stamper!

Such a Sweet Sunday

Boy, am I EVER glad it is finally Sunday. It has been a l-o-n-g week at my house. My seven year olds sports schedule has had us in overdrive this week. Who's idea was it to put him in two sports this season anyways (here's a hint, NOT MINE!) We're all feeling a little overscheduled this week.

To top it off, my husband has been travelling since last Sunday, and today he's (finally) home.

I'm not sure whether I'm going to steal our Vespa and take off into the sunset, or grab a large cup of coffee and go hide out in my stamp room alone for hours on end....all I know is that I've got plans today, big plans of just peace and quiet. No sports, no activities, no nothin... I think a big family breakfast is in order, but other than that... here's to a fully unscheduled day.

For Karen's fun sketch this week, I grabbed my Joyride stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas and my MFT Die-namic Clouds and got stamping.

I just *love* when a design comes to you as you're drifting off to sleep, or in those hazy moments as you are waking up. But I knew I wanted to use the clouds for the fun circular treatment on the sketch, and I was itchy to stamp this Vespa lovin' rabbit.

Patterned papers are *mostly* My Mind's Eye Garden Variety, of course I had to throw a bit of that October Afternoon gingham in there too.

I hope that you've got a restful day planned for yourself too. A great relaxin' start to your day is to hop on over to see all the girls on the Sweet Sunday Sketch team!

When a healthy paper stash becomes very handy....

Last weekend, I realized with fright, that I had all of my mother's day cards finished up, but that I'd forgotten a very important card.... one for my sweet baby niece who was being baptized.

And this, my friends, is when being a cardmaker becomes particularly handy. And, having a wide "collection" of stamps, paper and embellishments at hand is particularly useful.

I used this darling sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About Babies and reached for my MFT Die-namic Jumbo Scallops. Of course, I have quite the stash of Quite Contrary paper from My Minds Eye.

This luscious ivory ribbon is MFT's Birthday Bash Ribbon and I used a bit of TCP's Linen Thread to accent my main panel.

Here's hoping you have a wonderful day today! I'm off to chase the boys around at the ball fields for the morning, and then get ready for my husband to return from his trip tonight! HOORAY!

May 14, 2010

Shabby Birthday

You may have been noticing a little shift in my designs lately, because some nights, instead of being itchy to color, I'm itchy to sew, or distress, or work paper flowers, or just fit together some pretty scraps.

Its fun to see what will fit together, and use up lots of "bits" that I've got hanging about. I might add that these are great cards to work on while listening to television or a movie. A quiet night.

You'll recognize the October Afternoon Thrift Shop and Go Fly a Kit which I like mixing up together, there are lots of common colors.

I've also added in a bit of red gingham from My Mind's Eye quite contrary. As all these bits are laying on my desk, you have a little a-ha moment now and again when you find unexpected elements somehow work together.

Alas, it is Friday, the day that I don't work, and both my boys are in school. Sometimes it is crazy errand day, today Karen and I are going to hit some of our local haunts and grab a bit of lunch! Only a few left in the school year, so I'm treasuring each and every one of them.....

MFT Greatest Hits - Fizer Month

You may remember that last month, many of us on the MFT Team put together a little Greatest Hits posting using all different Who's That Girl sets.

This month, we thought we'd play again, this time we're sharing different stamp sets from the MFT Presents - Stephanie Fizer collection.

I am loving doing this, because my go to techniques change over time, and of course, so do my go to tools and paper packs. I love freshening up a set with all my latest goodies.

This sweet girl from Rainy Day Friends in her froggy coat just makes me smile! And, she's just perfect for paper piecing!

I love when project comes together quickly. I ran my Die-namic Clouds through my Big Shot twice, and used one medium and two small clouds. I crumpled them for added texture on my project, and gently inked the edges for definition. For a quick grassy grounding, I added a green Die-namic Jumbo Scallop. MFT Adornmnents were just the perfect size for some buttons on her raincoat.

Please hop on over to the MFT Blog today after 11 am for a full list of designers participating in today's Greatest Hits! You'll find all the Stephanie Fizer stamps here - and valid only Thursday May 13th and Friday May 14th you can get 15% off of Fizer sets by using the code is FIZER (please note that this special savings offer is valid only for Stephanie Fizer sets!)

Splitcoast Stampers Tutorial

I'm so excited to let you know that my rolled paper flowers tutorial is now available! I wrote it for the Splitcoast Stampers weekly tutorial, and you can find it over HERE.

You'll of course see a bit of my new favorite, Die-namic Jumbo Scallop in felt on the front of this card. I'm not usually a fan of purple and plum, but let me say I love this paper! Its more of the My Minds Eye Quite Contrary line (and yes, I'm totally obsessed with this paper!) Everything is matted with Hot Fudge cardstock, and I used an ivory cardbase. I love the pop of contrast on this color combination, and I'm guessing I'll give it another whirl soon!

The sentiment is from the Clearly Sentimental line at MFT, "Clearly Sentimental about Mothers." Kim at MFT is actually selling Felt and Cork now for your projects, and you'll just love the fun color assortments that she's put together. You can find the felt here and the cork here.

This is the card that I gave to my mother for Mother's Day, and let me say that it just BARELY fit int an envelope. Giggle. So, if you like to make practical, mailable cards, this might just not be the technique for you. HA! But it sure did make for a pretty card!

TCP Tuesday: Getting Sketchy

Last week, I had a totally crazy schedule, and as such, sadly, I missed out on last week's TCP Tuesday challenge. So I really wanted to be have my act together on time to play this week.

This week, Leigh is our Hostess with the Mostess, and you'll find the full details on her blog. I really DO hope you'll play along, and my guess is, that when you see this fun sketch, that you'll just *have* to play along!

Because really, its such a fun one... I must say, I just love shaped cards!

You can see that I'm still playing around with my October Afternoon papers both Go Fly a Kite and Thrift Shop. (Adore!!)

Circular card base is MFT's Hot Fudge matted with Fossil cardstock. This fun stamp set is "Hearts and Flowers" from The Cat's Pajamas and always puts a smile on my face!

For a chance at getting Swanky, be sure to crank out your own card with this fun sketch and add it to the guestbook on Alma's Blog.

Have a Swanky Day everyone! See you tomorrow!

A Helping Hand Blog Hop

You may have seen on the news recently, Tennessee has had catastrophic flooding from a recent series of storms. The news coverage is certainly lacking considering the magnitude of devastation. More than $1.5 Billion is estimated in property damage. And, sadly, 23 people lost their lives... you can see a report on the damage here on CNN.

My sweet friend Jessica, emailed me to ask if I'd help share the details of a new set, titled "A Helping Hand" which will have 100% of the proceed donated to Nashville area Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

The set has been designed by Jen Shults, owner/illustrator of Wildflower Patch Kids Digital Stamps, and Betty Roberts of Simply Betty, a new stamp line debuting June 1st.

The set will retail for $15 and 100% of the proceeds are being donated to the Nashville area Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

I hope you'll hop around to visit all the girls who are helping promote the "A Helping Hand" today, but even more than that, I do hope you'll help out a litle by heading on over to Wildflower Pat Kids and pick up a set for yourself...
